Best ways of Blasting Calories with Gym Machines
The best way to burn calories at the gym is to combine cardio, interval training and strength (or resistance) training. This will help you blast fat and build lean muscle, which in turn burns more calories, even when you’re resting.
Some of the best calorie-burning workouts involve high-intensity training or HIIT. This involves short bursts of exercise followed by a recovery period. A common HIIT workout on the treadmill might involve running hard for 30 seconds and then walking slow for 30 seconds. You can also kick up the intensity on many machines with an incline setting, which will work your muscles differently and burn more calories.
The stair climber or ClimbMill is another great way to burn calories at the gym. It works your calves, thighs, quads, and glutes. The pedal stepper is similar to the stair climber but you push down on the pedals while keeping your body mostly still for a low-impact exercise that works your legs and core. The step mill has a more realistic climbing motion and you can crank up the speed and resistance to really boost the calorie burn.
A ski machine might not be found in every gym, but if you do find one and are up for the challenge, use it to blast calories. This is a great total-body workout and will work your arms, back, shoulders, abs, and legs. If you want to make it even more challenging, try doing it with a weighted vest.
