Running shorts with liners are one of the best ways to stay cool on your run, as they provide an additional layer between your underwear and the breathable fabric of the shorts. Additionally, lining helps to absorb sweat that would otherwise build up on your skin, making them an essential part of every runner’s closet. However, if you’re not a fan of the extra underwear layer or don’t find it comfortable, don’t worry–there are still plenty of options for runners without liners. You can even use underwear when wearing shorts with liners (such as Bird Dogs or Ten Thousand), although it’s not recommended, as the outline of your underwear will be visible to others on your run. Runners with liners can simply cut them off when needed.
